Acts - The Acts Of The Holy Spirit

When it comes to scripture, the book of Acts is perhaps on of the most fascinating books in the Bible. Most believers tend to read either the Gospels or skip to the letters of Paul. Acts is so often overlooked but it shouldn't be. With the stories of how the early church came to be, how the gospel spread, and all of the works of the Holy Spirit, this book is vital to a healthy Christian life.

While reading the Gospels and Paul's letters in our daily devotions as Christians is crucially important, I think that maybe one reason so many believers struggle with power in their lives is because they tend to pass over reading the book of Acts and learning from it. Acts is full of stories where the Holy Spirit's power is discussed and how evident it was in their everyday lives and encounters with people.

The Holy Spirit is crucial in the life of a believer. He is our comforter, our guide, and the one who empowers us. Jesus commanded His disciples to wait in Jerusalem until they received the infilling and empowerment of the Holy Spirit. He knew that life and the things we are called to accomplish for the kingdom of God would be to difficult without the Holy Spirit.

I believe it is so important for us today as followers of Christ and soldiers in the kingdom of God to wait for the power of the Holy Spirit so that we might be empowered. The culture and world we are living in today is very difficult but it should not make us feel hopeless when we know where our power and strength come from. I also believe that it is very important for all Christians to take the time to read and study the book of Acts so that our faith and thankfulness for the gift of the Holy Spirit might grow.

I encourage you today to join me as I dig deeper into learning about the Holy Spirit and His acts. I also pray that you will join me in in waiting on Him for His fresh infilling, His guidance into all truth, and His comfort in all difficult places.

Forever Yours,

Kristen.
